Dog Sniffs Out Caver

Trapped caver Simon Evans waas rescued alive yesterday by Britain's first underground sniffer dog. Labrador Sophie was called in when a six-strong search party failed to find the pot-holer more than 500ft underground. Simon was cut off by a fall of sand in a narrow tunnel and only had enough air to last half an hour after being trapped in the 10-mile Dan-yr-Ogof cave system near Abercrave in mid-Wales.
