Slugs Dinner 2004

The dinner was held at the Dalesbridge Centre near Austwick. With camping, bunkhouse or B&B on offer all tastes were catered for!

During Saturday 12 SLUGS actually went caving, down Valley Entrance. Others took walks up Crummockdale to admire the limestone paving or whiled away the afternoon in Baxter?s tea tent.

The meal was followed by light entertainment. A nostalgia quiz ?Brain of a Slug?, photos of the days activities (the wonders of modern technology), the sight of 5 slugs trying to get the digital projector working (things never change), presentations, poetry and a slide show or two. The quiz questions can be seen on the SLUGS website (answers on a postcard). Eventually we were thrown out of the dinning room and spent the rest of the evening in the bar. When we were thrown out of the bar, the tea tent opened for business until the early hours.

Sunday, Crummockdale was popular again with various parties doing long or short walks.

Good company, good fun, good caving, good walks and a good venue all to ourselves! What more could you want? See you at the next one.

Ken.
