Ogwen Valley (11/12th June 2011) Another Successful Slugfest

Saturday started wet, but got better and better. Good weather for SLUGS, who are not noted for early starts. A good-sized team scrambled up the Gribin Ridge onto Glyder Fach. The obligatory summit-shot was taken. Pete checked the map, Ken climbed, Matthew posed....
Meanwhile, Mary and Ewan went to a birthday party at Bodnant Gardens, where Mary’s friends just happen to call themselves SNAILS. So Mary nicked the cake (once the middle, shelly bit had been eaten of course) which was devoured with gusto by the returning mountaineers. Sunday started wet and got steadily wetter, so we sat in Phil and Rosie’s enormous tent for the morning before we admitted that the Met Office forecast was right after all, and meandered homeward. |
