SLUGS visit Teesdale, May 2011

Ellen had arranged for a very charming campsite
Was it the lure of Teesdale or the campsite? Whichever it was, this proved to be a very popular SLUGS event with a total of 16 people and Pillar turning out. The weather was very windy all weekend and somewhat tamed the ambitions. On Saturday a mass walk along the river to Low force was enjoyed by all in quite reasonable weather. Saturday night was very stormy with strong wind and lashes of rain. Which kept some folk awake all night but all the tents stayed up. Sunday morning we cowered in our tents but the afternoon came out fine and we all walked from Low Force to High Force in delightful surroundings and sunshine. |
